Productivity Can Be Boosted with Day of Fun

An employer naturally wants his or her employees to make the most of their (and the company’s) time. This isn’t always the case, though, for a lot of reasons. Those managers who are willing to try different ways and means so that everyone can function at their maximum productivity level may consider an unconventional answer: having fun.

Good Ways to Increase Office Productivity?

Yes, it’s true. Having fun is actually proven to be able to boost the productivity of employees. Of course, not all “fun” have the same kinds of results, but research shows that engaging in recreational activities of one kind or another can be the key to “recharging the batteries” of your (perhaps) tired workers.

If you can arrange the office to participate in an activity that is not only fun, but which is also physically stimulating, then it will really get energy moving. Especially if you work in a traditional office wherein sitting all day long is the normal, a little blood-pumping game will do a world of good. This is part of why laser tag is such a fantastic option for office events, whether within a team-building focus or just for the simple joys of letting loose and forgetting about spreadsheets for an afternoon.

Team building is one of our strengths here at ShadowLand. Businesses and organizations time and time again have passed through our doors in order to benefit their company. They play a few rounds of laser tag, maybe sit through a presentation, but because it’s coupled with the game and in a new location, the information is more easily absorbed by employees. Plus, who wouldn’t want the opportunity to face their coworkers or boss in the shadowy, neon playground that is our laser tag arena?

At the very least, these vents develop a sort of team spirit. Employees who didn’t know each other before might be laughing and joking around by the end of the day, fostering a sense of camaraderie that wouldn’t exist otherwise. “Benefits [include] physical wellness; team bonding and friendly work environment; improved creativity; improved concentration; work-life balance; and loads more.” When people get along better, productivity increases. When an office starts to feel more familiar and well-liked, it has the same result. What do you have to lose by “taking a chance” on a few hours of fun, the result of which is backed by research?

If that isn’t enough to convince you, then consider the cost. ShadowLand offers the entertaining afternoon that your employees likely need at a fraction of the cost of so many other venues. There’s no need to splurge to see results in the office; head to one of our five activity centers to engage in a “work day” that they will never forget. Did we mention that we have an I.C.E.(Innovation, Communication, Empowerment) program specifically designed to work with your HR?
