Are you having a party this Halloween? Then be sure to have some Halloween games that add to fitness as the kids have fun during festivities! Keep them moving! We are here to help by giving you the top 10 Halloween fitness games. Read below to learn about the fitness games!
Monster Freeze Dance
Play some Halloween seasonal tunes such as Monster Mash. Allow the kids to show off their best monster dance moves. They have to freeze in place whenever the music stops. Keep the kids on their toes!
Snap Apple
Do not let the kids go bobbing for apples, let them try snapping a bite from an apple that hangs from a string. It works better than bobbing for apples because it keeps costumes or face paint looking great. Make sure the apples have stems so you can tie string to the stems. Loop the string around a tree branch or broomstick.
Capture the Ghost.
Have a classic backyard game of Capture the Flag! Make it a ghostly theme! You can use white handkerchiefs for flags. The white handkerchiefs for flags adds more of a challenge to the classic game because the teams will have a hard time telling flags apart from each other.
Relay Races
Allow the kids to creatively run relay races by making them stagger like zombies, fly on broomsticks like witches, and hop like frogs!
Pumpkin Bowling
Gather small pumpkins. Set up 1- or 2- liter plastic bottles and make a starting line to make an instant bowling alley. Fill the bottles with sand or rice to prevent them from easily toppling over.
Skeleton Scavenger Hunt
Let the kids roam the yard or house for skeleton parts. You can cut paper and use plastic ones purchased from a toy store or craft shop.

Are you and the kids excited for the Halloween Holiday season? You should be! It is a time for fun and originality in costumes and in games! We have for you some awesome indoor Halloween party games just for the kids!
We know how challenging it can be to come up with new ideas for party games. Halloween gives you a great opportunity to add eerie elements and more fun for kids when it comes to indoor games. The following are four great games the kids can play indoors for the Halloween Holiday!
Magic Pumpkin Game
To play this game, hollow out three small pumpkins and put a fake black spider in one pumpkin. Rotate the pumpkins and let the kids guess which pumpkin the spider is hiding. If you want a really challenging game, take a cardboard piece and use it as a tabletop. Cut three large holes and place witch hats over each hole. Let an adult, made up like a witch, hide under the table. Make sure the adult pokes his or her head out of one of the holes. Let the kids lift the hat to see where the witch may be hiding. Make sure the witch moves to different holes every time a new child comes up for a turn.
Bobbing for Apples
Fill a tub with warm water and place red apples in the tub. Make sure one apple is different. Blindfold each child. Let them bob for apples. The child that gets the green apple will receive a special prize. But make sure every other child has a small gift as well for trying.
Spooky Room
Let the children walk through a dark room and make them stick their hands in a bowl of eyeballs and intestines. The eyeballs can be cherries and the intestines spaghetti. Let adults hide in the room to grab children as they walk by them. Have a recording of a scream going on occasionally or a scary portrait to add more elements of surprise. This game should be played with children older than five years of age.
Zombie Search
Buy some miniature plastic zombies that glow in the dark. Hide these zombies around the room. Turn off all the lights and have the kids try to grab as many as they can before the lights come back on. Be sure that the kids wear glow necklaces so they do not run into each other.

Do you need to find ways to keep your children active to expend some of their energy? Then we are here to teach you how to make an indoor obstacle course for your children. Learn how to get work done around the house, while they are preoccupied safely having fun. An indoor obstacle can challenge their skills and enhance their learning processing.
Follow the instructions below to build an amazing indoor obstacle course.
- Clear a large area in your home to make your obstacle course. You do not want an injury of any sort ruin the fun for your kids. Take precautions to keep your children as safe as possible by moving furniture out of the way that has sharp corners. Pull up area rugs that could cause your children to slip or trip.
- Find items to use in your obstacle course. Some items you can use in your obstacle course are ring toss gaming materials, beanbags, and a one-hole golf game. You can use a plastic cup, if you do not have a one-hole golf game. You can use a small board as a balance beam.
- Set up moving challenges. Use an old box or two to make tunnels for your children to crawl over, under and through. If you do not have many boxes around, sofa cushions can be used instead. Use rows of chairs that children must crawl over. Use tied chair legs to let children climb under them.
- Write tasks on pieces of paper. All you have to do is tape a piece of paper that has instructions such as “ Do 15 jumping jacks with a jumping rope” or “ Hop on one leg 10 times.”
For more ideas on how to make your indoor obstacle course exciting, read this article on Ehow.com.

Are you part of a Youth Group? Are you a leader who wants to make your Youth Group better? We are here to give you a few strategies on how to improve the vibrancy of your Youth Group!
There are 5 domains of vibrancy that you can implement to improve programs you use for your Youth Group. The 5 domains are philosophy, culture, power structure, programs and staff.
Philosophy
- Make sure you have your youth active in planning, development, implementation and evaluation of programs.
- Eliminate programs that make your youth feel uninvolved and passive.
- Have more programs that engage your youth and promote them to pursue self-directed learning.
- Develop a mentor system where older youth are paired with younger participants! It helps with team bonding and as well as personal-level confidence!
- Network with other youth groups by creating exchange trips, club visits and plan networking events!
Culture
-Create a youth advisory board so that youth members can give their input to the program staff! It is called a youth group for a reason. The group should be about the youth and advancing the youth at all times.
-Form a shared cultural value where all youth participants are respected and valued, no matter who they are or what they strive to become.
-Listen to the youth by creating focus groups, so everyone has a chance to listen and respond to development changes.
Power Structure
- Make sure you provide training to all your staff members (youth and adult partnerships). A skilled staff is crucial to youth group success because youth can be paired with adult staff to be taught and coached on improving youth involvement and contributions.
Programs
- Always be willing to constantly evaluate your programs for relevancy and value to your youth members.
- Create anonymous surveys throughout the year to evaluate your programs. Do focus group interviews. Have open discussions and group meetings.
- Use ballot boxes to give group members the ability to solicit ideas.
- Have a concise and direct vision and mission to organize your youth group around. This will bring your programs into focus continuously. Know what your youth group is about. Know what your youth group does best.
Staff
- Give your staff several incentives to do a good job and ensure a long-term commitment to the youth group. It can be financial or non-materialistic incentives. What matters is giving your staff recognition for their good work. This will keep them motivated and involved.
To learn exactly how to have loyal and trustworthy staff members, as well as obtain more tips on increasing the vibrancy of your youth group, read this article by Kirk A. Astroth called Strategies for Improving Vibrancy in Youth Groups.

Need your work team to be more effective? Do not worry; you are not alone! Every workplace has the team building discussion! However, few workplaces understand how to create an experience where teamwork can develop a highly effective work team.
When you belong to a team, you want to feel part of the team so that you can complete task lager than yourself and personal well being. To establish a strong work team, the team as a whole and each member must understand the mission or objectives of your company.
Although everyone has specific job functions and belong to specific job departments, the bigger picture can be accomplished successfully and effectively. One huge mistake leaders make, that make team building activities fail, is never defining the team they want to build. Forming a general teamwork agenda is completely different from building an effective, driven and focused work team. We are here to give you a few great tips on how to make team-building activities successful.
- Make clear expectations. Have an executive leader clearly communicate expectations for the team’s performance and the desired outcomes. Let team members know exactly why the team was created. Are resources of people, time and money being used wisely and effectively? Are priorities of time, discussion, attention and interest made clear by executive leaders? When these tasks are made clear, your company will have clear performance expectations and you can measure your team’s development throughout the team building process.
- Commitment. To form an effective team, you have to make your team members believe in the cause. Do the people on the team really want to participate? Do they feel the team mission is important for the company’s development? Remember for team building to work, team members have to believe in the idea that their service is as valuable to your company as their own careers. Make your team members feel important by recognizing them for their contributions. Find ways for teamwork to develop team members’ skills, as well as the overall work team’s skills.
- Control. Find ways to give your team enough freedom and empowerment to feel enough ownership about the team project to successfully complete the task. But never forget to make clear team member boundaries. Never make a team task seem so competitive that strong teamwork vanishes.

Are you ready for back to school shopping? If you are not sure, we are here to help by giving you some of the best strategies to have fun savings and shopping! The best way to have happy school shopping is to get organized, stock up on the basics and learn to look for great sales and promotions!
For starters, have a game plan by sticking with the basics supplies first, no matter if the teacher has or has not provided a list of school supplies. When buying the essential school supplies, take advantage of back-to-school sales such as tax-free days that many states offer at different times.
You can be a successful back to school shopper by making a list and getting involved with your child! Often a school will provide your child with a recommended or required supplies list. If you lack a supply list, ask parents that have older grade school kids what they recommend buying for your child’s age bracket. Once you obtain these recommendations go over the list together with your child. This will help you both remain organized through out the process.
The next step is to separate wants from needs. Remember, the most important school supplies never go out of style, such as pencils and pens. If you have older children that have unused pencils, give them to your younger children. Avoid having pointless arguments with your child about having the “coolest” backpack or laptop. Set a budget for supplies. This will require your child to set priorities, learn how to manage money and start saving an allowance for items you cannot afford.
You can make shopping affordable by buying basics in bulk. You can buy paper, pencils, glue sticks and notebooks from your local dollar stores, warehouse stores and online sources such an eBay. Ask other parents to help find sales; some office supply stores will allow you to negotiate group discounts when you buy together!
For more great tips read this article from GreatSchools.org! Shop wisely and have fun! While you are at it, treat you and your child to ShadowLand Laser Adventures online stores! We have lunch coolers, t-shirts, mugs, and footballs all under $15! Come play some games at ShadowLand Laser Adventures!
